DRE x Talks Reference

DREx Reference is a unique initiative undertaken by DREx talks secretariat which aims at providing legal scholarship from around the world to jurisdictions that require support in identifying best international legal practices and answers to complex legal questions on arbitration. Our endeavor is to provide legal assistance through our robust network of advisors and fellows who shall be asked to send their opinions as and when such a request is made to the DREx secretariat by an express order of a court of law from any jurisdiction around the globe. This will be a voluntary exercise and will not bind any of our advisory board members and fellows to respond. In other words, each of these queries will be marked to all the members of the advisory board and selected fellows depending upon the subject matter and the nature of the query. On receiving this it will be optional for them to respond to the same within two weeks of the receipt. All the responses that will be received by the DREx secretariat will be collated and organized in order to be communicated to the judicial authority making such query. In case no response is received within two weeks from any of the members who have been sent the query, the same will also be communicated to the judicial authority that has made such a query. We sincerely hope that this initiative is able to provide adequate assistance to judicial authorities as well as practitioners world over with answers that will help them develop progressive jurisprudence in the area of dispute resolution.

Practical Note:

For the sake of clarity, only court orders which clearly direct /request DREx secretariat to respond to a question of law or such court orders that have given liberty to the parties or their counsel on a request made by them for a reference to DREx secretariat will be entertained. All such communications must be sent to DREx secretariat marking it to DREx reference section on its email address i.e. reference@drextalks.com with an authenticated copy of the relevant court order and a covering letter explaining the factual background of the query.
